We Say Welcome To Spring, Daffodils, AND Seraphina!!!

The time for announcing our springtime bundle of joy has come! Just days after the daffodils popped out of the earth in our backyard, so another flower has popped into our family, only this one comes with much brighter and permanent presence. Her name is...

Seraphina Rian Terziu

On Friday, April 4th, 2014, already 10 days after my due date, I was admitted to the hospital for induction at 7:00 am. We felt so ready for what was to come. The day proceeded to have many ups and downs but it both started and ended in smiles and ultimately that is what matters!

Daddy fuels up to help him be the world's best labor coach!

All smiles anticipating the day ahead!

Seraphina was birthed naturally at 9:14 pm, while I was standing and holding onto Jack's neck for support (he was my strong tower). Oh my! All I can say is that when the baby started coming there was no moving around for me. My midwife and doula got down on the floor and "caught" Seraphina as she entered our world and then they lifted her up between Jack and me as she took her first breaths and cried out.  Together we held our baby girl in our arms for the first time. That was the most heavenly moment we have ever experienced in our marriage together. Then, a chair was pulled up and I sat down for us to enjoy meeting our new little angel...

A kiss of love shared in the midst of tears of joy!

Our little babe weighed in at 8 lbs, 11 oz. and measured 20 1/4 inches long.

Her Name:

Her name "Seraphina" means ardent and fiery, coming from the scriptures in Isaiah 6:1-8 where the seraphim are the six-winged angels flying above the throne of God declaring His glory. The name "Rian" means king and comes from her Daddy as Jack's middle name is Ryan. And so, we gave her a graceful and strong name for both her heavenly Father and her natural Daddy. 

Seraphina Rian:

"She who is ardent for the King."

So, will she be a Daddy's Girl?! To which I answer: 

In every way!

She's here, we're settling in, and our life with 4 daughters is just beginning. Our hearts are full!!!

Thank you to all the family and friends who have shown us support, cheered us on from near or far, and congratulated us as we started this new chapter. We are so thankful for the gift of family and friendship in our lives!
