The time has come to make the big announcement!
November got off to a great start for us. We now know the gender of our fourth baby. I am presently 20 weeks along - halfway there. Baby is moving a lot, growing perfectly, and just as cute as can be on the ultrasound. From what we can see, the Toft forehead boasts again and a cute little button nose is in the works.
Our family was split down the middle on what we thought we were having. Jack and Lilia have been cheering for another girl throughout the pregnancy while Annaliese and I have been insisting that it is a boy. Gabriella (our little "Ella Bella") just had fun laughing at us while we took turns trying to convince her to yell out boy or girl in order to side with either team against the opposition.
All in all, we knew that whatever this baby was there would be joy with the news. After all, four girls seemed to us like a perfect package while the prospect of mixing things up with a boy would bring adventure and new horizons.
SO WHAT IS IT ALREADY?
Well, this past weekend we hosted a gathering for Annaliese's 5th birthday.
Happy Birthday Liesy! She's the perfect biggest sister and keeps us all in line around here!
For one of her presents, we wrapped a big box of balloons that she could open to reveal the mystery...here it is...
If Annaliese's party guests were voting boy, we asked them to wear a stick-on mustache. Likewise, if they were cheering for a girl, they wore a necklace. The boy team had the girl team beat by a long shot in numbers and cheers. Although, the one little person there that really, really cared either way was big sister Annaliese. She really wanted a brother...
So, we opened the box....................

THEY'RE PINK BALLOONS!!!

YUP, IT'S ANOTHER GIRL!!!!!!!
Whoo-hoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
............................................
Therefore, we've dubbed Jack, "The X-man"...
....because, he donates the "X" chromosome to make all these GIRLS possible!!!!!
Now, many have expressed sympathy for Jack, saying they feel sorry for him. But, spend just a little time with this guy and his girls and you'll see that the only thing he is sorry about are the days he will inevitably have to give his daughters away in marriage (and no, not just for his wallet either! haha.). Now, we do acknowledge that we may need an extra dose of prayers in about 10 years. Though, I'm sure we'll manage somehow and come through the teenage years better than ever. ;-)
Truly, we're both very happy and delighted to be the proud parents of now FOUR daughters!!! We feel that it is perfect...just right in everyway.
Soon, we'll have our own version of Little Women!
MORE PINK!
Maybe blue will be in our future one day??? Maybe??? Only God knows and we're taking life step by step. But, at least for now and maybe until we have grandsons, we're embracing the pink! ;-)
IN OTHER RECENT FAMILY NEWS...
Annaliese turns five this Friday. She loves reading and making up her own songs and stories. Since the gender reveal, we've managed to convince her that a new sister will indeed be a HUGE blessing. Now, she insists she will hold the baby all the time and help to take care of her.
Lily-Bird is 3 years old, learning her letters, loves princesses, giggling, and salad.
She has such a tender heart and is quite a cuddlebug.
At 21 months, Ella officially considers herself one of the big girls now. She's mostly interested in anything her sisters are doing, meaning we're all daily learning how to share and consider others. ;-)
That's all for now. Thanks for taking time out to let us share this with you!
We hope to return to share some adorable pictures when springtime comes and adds another flower to our garden.
Love,
Laura
